The Swamp Rose is also called the ‘Clustered Rose’ because its flowers usually occur in groups of 3–20. The pink flowers are about 1–1-1/2” across. Like the Nootka Rose, the Swamp Rose often has pairs of thorns where the leaves attach to the stems. Its fruits are clusters of small purplish pear-shaped hips. (Portland Plant List, 2016)
