Refund policy
Order Cancellations - To cancel an order email customerservice@sparrowhawknativeplants.com as soon as possible.
- Orders that are changed or canceled during the online ordering period will receive a full refund.
- Orders canceled after the online ordering period closes, but before the plant pick-up day, will be refunded minus 15% restocking fee to cover the costs of loading, transporting and coordinating your order (or 100% refund in the form of store credit).
- Orders canceled on the plant pick-up day or later will be refunded minus 50% restocking fee that covers the costs we incur in loading, transporting, and coordinating your order - plus coordinating the last minute resale or donation of the plants (or 100% refund in the form of store credit). Since we do not have a brick and mortar location, we are not able to hold over any plants past 1:45pm on the Saturday of your pick-up weekend (unless prior arrangements have been made).
If you realize that you are not able to pick-up your plants, please organize for a friend or family member to pick them up for you. Of course, we are compassionate humans; if an emergency comes up, please notify us at customerservice@sparrowhawknativeplants.com as soon as possible to see if we can make a special arrangement.Â
No Shows - After placing an online order, each customer receives an email confirmation immediately. We send a second email reminder several days before your pick-up weekend. If an order is not picked up, we send a third communication, via text, asking if/when you are coming to pick up your order. If the customer has not made a prior arrangement with us nor responded to any of these three communications, it is considered a "no show". We hold "no show" orders until 1:45pm on Saturday. Since we do not have a brick and mortar location, we are not able to hold over any plants beyond that time, unless prior arrangements have been made. Please contact us anytime to request that we process your "no show" order as a cancellation, described above.        Â
Plant Warranty - Plants are living things in a dynamic natural environment. So, we are not able to provide an unlimited, universal warranty on plants. That said, here's how we can work together for happy customers and healthy plants:
- We work with licensed and reputable growers that care about quality. That said, things happen (voles, rabbits, freezing or scorching temps, etc.) that can degrade the quality of plants between the time when you order them and when you pick them up. If you have any questions or issues, it's best to bring it up during the checkout process.Â
- Many plants will be dormant at pick-up. We have been assured that all dormant plants are checked for a bulb or root structure before delivery, but we invite you to take a careful, second look inside the pot(s) before driving away. That would be the quickest and easiest way to address a problem and/or issue a refund.Â
- If you get home and have issues or questions about the plants you got, don't hesitate to let us know. It genuinely helps us to know if there are consistent problems with a species or a grower we're working with, thereby improving quality for everyone.
- Moral of the story, we are compassionate humans, happy to issue refunds on a case by base basis, in reasonable situations.  customerservice@sparrowhawknativeplants.com  Â
